Creating a conference
About this task
You must have two active calls to create a conference. Video is not available during conference
calls.
Use this procedure to create a conference call using the Avaya Aura
®
AS 5300 Office Client.
Procedure
1. Make a call or answer an incoming call.
2. Place that party on hold.
3. Repeat this process up to the conference port limit. The conference post limit depends on
the number of ports configured by your system administrator.
Note:
In a conference, you take up one port, so the maximum number of people who can join
into a single audio conference is the conference port limit minus one.
4. Click
Conference
in the call control panel of any
Conversation
window. The
Conversation
window displays the calls that are available to join a conference.
5. Select the calls you want to join to the conference and click
Join selection to conference
.
A
Conference Call
window appears.
You do not need to initiate all calls before creating the conference. You can conference in
new calls after the conference is launched.
Leaving a conference
To leave a conference, click
Hang Up
in the
Conference Call
window.
The network conference server continues hosting the conference call until only one party remains,
at which time it ends the call.
