Use Information
About nD and Brix
In addition to the refractive index (nD) scale, the instrument is equipped with the Brix scale that is
calibrated (0% Brix) at the refractive index of water (1.33299 nD). Brix represents the weight percentage of
sucrose (how many grams of sucrose there is in 100g of a sucrose solution). Please see the page 52
"Refractive Index and Brix" for more details.
Administrator Password
Change the default administrator password at first time use. Please see the page 15 "Changing
passwords".
Data Storage Capacity
The feature to automatically delete old measurement data is disabled at the factory to avoid accidental
deletion. The instrument will stop taking further measurements after the 500-measurements capacity is
reached. Please see the page 37 "Reviewing and Recording Measurement Data" to enable this feature.
