Confirm Zero-setting
Touch "START" while the purified water used to zero-set the instrument is still on the prism to confirm
that zero-setting was performed successfully.
Zero-setting in the Brix scale
If the measurement value in MODE-1 is within accuracy of ±0.010% (RX-5000i-Plus) or ±0.03%
(RX-5000i / RX-9000i) or ±0.1% (RX-7000i) when the target temperature is set at 20.00℃ / If the
measurement value in MODE-T is within accuracy of ±0.14 (RX-5000i-Plus, Resolution 0.001) when
the target temperature is set at 20.00℃:
The unit has been zero-set correctly.
If the measurement value is outside the accuracy range above:
Zero-set the unit again. With the same purified water as the first time on the prism, touch ZERO, and
then START to confirm the measurement value.
Zero-setting in the nD (refractive index) scale (calibration)
1.
Select the refractive index scale = SCALE #002 (see page 31 "Selecting SCALE").

Touch ZERO.

"ZERO SET END" will be displayed.
4.
Touch "START" with the same purified water still on the prism.
If the measurement value in MODE-1 is above 1.33297 and below 1.33301 (RX-5000i-Plus) or above
1.33295 and below 1.33303 (RX-5000i / RX-9000i) or above 1.33289 and below 1.33309 (RX-7000i)
when the target temperature is set at 20.00℃:
The unit has been zero-set/calibrated correctly.
If the measurement value is outside the range above:
Zero-set/calibrate the unit again. With the same purified water as the first time on the prism, touch
ZERO, and then START to confirm the measurement value.

Use only purified water.

When a target temperature is set by the user, perform zero-setting once the prism
temperature ("PRESENT" on the upper right corner) is within ±0.5℃ of the
specified temperature ("TARGET" on the lower left corner) for accurate results.

Although zero-setting can be performed at any time, it is not necessary after each
measurement.

After the step 4 on page 26 "Zero-setting", when no target temperature is specified
by the user, or the prism temperature is already close to the target temperature,
proceed to the step 6.

"WAITING" is displayed while the Peltier is functioning, and "READING" is displayed
while the instrument is taking a measurement.

While "WAITING" and "WAIT TIME" are displayed, only "QUIT" and "Mode/History"
keys are enabled.
※
While "READING" is displayed, all keys are disabled.
