New Windows NT Installation
These instructions will guide you through the installation of the ASUS host
adapter driver while installing Windows NT 4.0. Windows NT will be in-
stalled from either floppy diskettes or CD-ROM. The Windows NT driver is
located on the PCI-SIU2 DRIVER DISK 1. It is important that the hardware
has been installed successfully before proceeding further.

If you are installing Windows NT from floppy diskettes, locate the
Windows NT Disk 1 for Floppy Installation. Make a backup copy of
this diskette before installation.

If you are installing Windows NT from a CD version, locate the Win-
dows NT Setup Disk for CD-ROM Installation. Make a backup copy
of this diskette before installation.

Insert the backup Windows NT Setup disk into drive A: and turn on
your computer.

Follow the instructions on the screen until you come to a window titled:
”WINDOWS NT WORKSTATION SETUP” (for servers, it will read
“WINDOWS NT SERVER SETUP”).
•
Press “ENTER” to continue setting up Windows NT.
•
Select “S” to skip mass storage detection.
•
Select “S” to configure additional SCSI adapters.

When prompted by the Windows NT installation, scroll down the list
and select “OTHER (Requires disk provided by a hardware manu-
facturer)” from the list of Additional SCSI Adapters. A message will
appear on screen stating to:

Remove diskette in drive A and set it aside.
•
Insert PCI-SIU2 DRIVER DISK 1 and press <ENTER>.
•
Select: SCSI Host Adapter, press <ENTER>.

The ASUS host adapter driver is now installed The on-screen instruc-
tions will continue for a complete installation of Windows NT. Refer
to your Windows NT users manual for completion of the operating
system installation procedure.
