4.2.3 Hygienic cleaning of the reusable sec-
retion canister
1. Empty the reusable secretion canister and
dispose of the aspirate in a proper man-
ner.
2. Remove the ball before performing the fol-
lowing cleaning instructions (fig. 18(C)).
3. Rinse all components of the reusable se-
cretion canister under running water and
let them dry.
4. Assemble the dry components according
to fig. 18.
It is also possible to place all components
of the reusable secretion canister into a wa-
ter bath at 65 °C for 15 minutes for hygienic
cleaning.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the
reusable secretion canister after 30 hygienic
cleanings or in the case of visible damage or
functional restrictions.
4.2.4 Hygienic cleaning of the connecting
tube
1. Applies only to the ASSKEA reusable se-
cretion canister system: Remove the ex-
ternal bacterial filter and dispose it of in
a proper manner (see section 6.3) prior to
cleaning the connecting tube.
2. Rinse the connecting tube with clear water
and place it into a water bath at 65 °C for
15 minutes once a day.
3. Afterwards rinse the connecting tube tho-
roughly with clear water and let it dry.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the
connecting tube no less than every 4 weeks.
4.2.5 Hygienic cleaning of the external
canister ‘Bag‘
Rinse the external canister ‘Bag‘ under run-
ning water and let it dry.
It is also possible to place the external canis-
ter „Bag“ into a water bath at 65 °C for 15 mi-
nutes for hygienic cleaning.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the
external canister ‘Bag‘ after 30 hygienic
cleanings or in the case of visible damage or
functional restrictions.
4.2.6 Hygienic cleaning of the suction tube
1. Dispose of the suction tube in a proper
manner prior to each new patient!
2. If used for one patient only, rinse the
suction tube with clear water (max. 0.5 l)
using the rinsing bottle after each aspirati-
on procedure and place it into a water bath
at 65 °C for 15 minutes once a day.
3. Then rinse the suction tube thoroughly
with clear water and let it dry.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the
suction tube for each new patient and no less
than every 4 weeks, even if used for one pa-
tient only, since the material can become dis-
colored and brittle due to frequent use.
