3.1.1 Connecting the ASSKEA secretion
aspirator M30
Plus
Check whether the stated power sup-
ply unit and mains cable (see section
7 ‘Technical data‘) is present and whe-
ther there is any damage. Replace the
power supply unit and mains cable
immediately if there is any damage.
Use the socket for the 12 V power supply unit
(fig. 1(G)) to connect the device to the mains
power supply with the aid of the supplied po-
wer supply unit to charge or operate it as nee-
ded. Make sure that the device is positioned in
such a way that it is possible to easily discon-
nect it later. First connect the power supply
unit to the socket for the power supply unit
of the ASSKEA secretion aspirator M30
Plus
and then to the mains power supply. Infor-
mation on the permissible environmental
conditions during operation can be found in
section 7 ‘Technical data‘.
3.2 Start-up
• Please read this entire instruction for use
prior to initial start-up of the ASSKEA sec-
retion aspirator M30
Plus
.
• Remove the device and the accessories
from the packaging.
• Always place the device on a sturdy and flat
surface without slope.
• The ASSKEA secretion aspirator M30
Plus
can be placed next to the patient bed. Opti-
onally, a variable holder for the attachment
of the device to tube and rail systems as
well as a bed holder are available.
• Inspect all tubes as well as the power sup-
ply unit for damage prior to each start-up of
the ASSKEA secretion aspirator M30
Plus
. It
is important to avoid kinking when connec-
ting the tubes. Ensure prior to switching on
the unit that the secretion canister and the
tubing are properly connected.
• Fully charge the battery prior to initial start-
up.
• Prior to the initial start-up, it is essential
that you follow the safety instructions in
section 1.6.
• Always have one backup disposable liner
‘OneWay‘ ready when using the reusable
secretion canister system or one backup
external bacterial filter, since these are ab-
solutely necessary for safe operation!
To ensure optimum aspiration, place
the ASSKEA secretion aspirator
M30
Plus
below the patient to be tre-
ated. It is important that the suction
tube does not form a dip and is situa-
ted at least at patient level.
