Once the secretion canister is full, aspiration
is stopped by means of a mechanical over-
flow protection integrated into the lid of the
reusable secretion canister or a self-sealing
bacterial filter in the disposable liner ‘One-
Way‘.
Flow rate is adjusted by using the vacuum
regulator.
The reusable secretion canister or the holder
for the external canister ‘Bag‘ is attached by
directly pushing it onto the guide rails on
the housing of the aspiration device (figs. 6,
7). The vacuum connection between the as-
piration device and the secretion canister is
made via the connecting tube (fig. 1(C)).
Charging or operation is carried out using the
supplied 12 V power supply unit (fig. 1(H)).
2.3.1 Information on the double filter system
Health risks associated with handling
of infectious agents or pathogens
Infectious agents and pathoges in the
aspirate cause health risks.
• Never operate the device without an
external bacterial filter. (exception:
ASSKEA disposable secretion canis-
ter system)
• Check that the external bacterial filter
is dry and clean prior to each use to
ensure faultless function!(exception:
ASSKEA disposable secretion canis-
ter system)
The ASSKEA double filter system DFS
®
con-
sists of the external bacterial filter and the
bacterial filter integrated into the aspirator.
For the reusable secretion canister system, a
separate, external hydrophobic (liquid-repel-
lent) bacterial filter is used. For the disposab-
le secretion canister system, an external self-
sealing bacterial filter is integrated into the
disposable liner ‘OneWay’. The external bac-
terial filters (reusable as well as disposable
secretion canister system) and the integrated
bacterial filter form the ASSKEA double filter
system and in combination they are 99.999 %
effective against bacteria and viruses.
The ASSKEA double filter system DFS
®
effectively protects against overflow
and contamination of the interior of the
device. It permits fast, simple and cost-
effective processing.
Service life and reuse
The external bacterial filter (for the reusable
secretion canister system) is intended for sin-
gle use. For this reason it must be replaced
for each new patient. When used exclusively
for one patient, replace the external bacterial
filter no less than every two weeks , if it is
used frequently.
When replacing the external bacterial
filter, follow the supplied instruction
for use!
The integrated bacterial filter is not
suitable for reuse. To ensure con-
sistent performance, the integrated
bacterial filter must be replaced by
an authorized service person prior to
each new patient, if it has come into
contact with the aspirate (blocking) or
during maintenance/repair.
2.3.2 Information on the secrection canister
systems
Disposable secretion canister system:
The disposable secretion canister system
consists of the external canister ‘Bag‘, the
holder for the external canister ‘Bag‘, the dis-
posable liner ‘OneWay‘, the connecting tube
and the suction tube. The disposable liner
