INTENDED USE
Intended Use
The Arjo Strap Stretcher is speci
¿
cally designed to lift a patient/resident in a supine position in hospital
environments and Long Term Care (LTC). This product is also intended for assisted lateral transfer of patients/
residents between surfaces of bed and stretcher. The Arjo Strap Stretcher should be used together with Arjo
lift devices and Arjo stretcher frames (700-19302, 700-15695 and 700-19522) in accordance with the Allowed
Combinations speci
¿
ed in the Instruction for Use (IFU).
The Arjo Strap Stretcher allows caregivers to have access to provide wound for inspection and wound care.
The Arjo Strap Stretcher shall only be used by appropriately trained caregivers with adequate knowledge of
the patient/resident medical contraindications of use of this product, and in accordance with the instructions
outlined in the IFU.
The Arjo Strap Stretcher should only be used for the purpose speci

ed in the IFU. Any other use is prohibited.
Resident Assessment
We recommend that facilities establish regular assessment routines. Caregivers should assess each patient/
resident according to the following criteria prior to use:
• Patient/resident is unable to sit upright or semi-reclined in a standard passive sling
• Might be almost completely bed ridden
• May have stiff, contracted or painful joints preventing them from sitting upright or partially upright
• Totally dependent on the caregiver
• Provision of care and general transfers are physically demanding for the caregiver
The patient/resident should not exceed a maximum weight of 227kg (500 lb). The Arjo Strap Stretcher length
is 1959mm (77 1/8in)
and its width at shoulders is 670mm (26 2/5in). The product may be used with patients/
residents taller or wider than the Arjo Strap Stretcher if they are properly assessed prior to use, since use of
the Arjo Strap Stretcher may generate pressure points.
