3.5 Fire Procedures
FIRE DURING START ON GROUND
1. Cranking.................................................CONTINUE
to get a start, which would suck the flames and
accumulated fuel through the carburetor and into the
engine.
If engine starts:
2. Power......................................................1500 RPM
3. Fuel Boost Pump...............................................OFF
4. Fuel Selector Valve............................................OFF
and allow engine to empty carburetor
5. Engine..................................INSPECT for damage
If engine fails to start:
6. Ignition..............................................................OFF
7. Fuel Selector Valve..............................CONFIRM OFF
8. Electrical Switches..............................................OFF
9. Aircraft.............................................................EXIT
10. Fire................................................EXTINGUISH
using fire extinguisher, wool blanket, or dirt.
11. Fire Damage....................INSPECT AND REPAIR
