For the USA version, the instrument panel must comply with the DOT marking requirements
(SAE Standards J590b, October 1965).
Hazard
The hazard control device is a button. The hazard can be activated or deactivated only with the key set
to KEY ON. When it is activated, the indicators also remain active when the key is extracted. To deac-
tivate it, set the key back to KEY ON.
Automatic deactivation
It is necessary the implement the automatic deactivation of the turn indicators. If the vehicle is stopped,
with zero speed, the indicators continue to flash indefinitely. If the vehicle is moving, the indicators are
automatically deactivated when one of these situations occurs:
•
After a time (t) = 40 sec.
•
After riding 500 m (0.31 mi).
Immobilizer
The immobilizer system is integrated to the instrument panel electronic card. The card structure should
admit instrument panels without immobilizer or with the immobilizer function disabled, to be used in
countries where immobilizer systems are not allowed or not fitted.
The supplier shall be responsible for homologating the instrument panel immobilizer device according
to the regulations set by the Ministry of Post & Telecommunications of the different countries, and for
sticking the adequate system certification labels on the instrument panel.
Operation
Upon starting the vehicle the instrument panel will read the key code. If it corresponds to one of the
stored codes, the instrument panel will carry out the initial check and enable the vehicle start-up.
Up to four keys should be stored.
If the key code is not recognised, the instrument panel disables the vehicle start-up, the display shows
the request of the manual unlocking code; in this case the menu should be accessed through the di-
agnosis function.
Code
This function is used to manually unlock the immobilizer by entering a code. If the instrument panel
does not recognise the key inserted, entering the access code is requested, and the following message
is displayed:

Enter the code
The code must have 5 characters selected between 0-9. At the end of the line, the code will be empty
(five 0 digits or rather 00000) and it will be programmed by the user. If the code is not entered within
10 seconds, an alarm message is displayed:

Remember to enter the user code
This code can be modified by the user after re-entering of the old code, and if the user has lost the
access code, by means of a code entering procedure requiring inserting both keys the user has.
