Supported Platforms for HTML
Web Servers
Touch panel files exported as Inactive HTML are compatible with any Web Server. A Web Client
can run these same files locally, without the need for a Web Server. Files exported as Active
WebLinx HTML require a Web Server capable of processing ASP scripts that use VBScript. This
currently means using either Microsoft's Personal Web Server for Windows 95, 98, or Windows NT
4.0 Workstation, and Microsoft's IIS (Internet Information Services) for Windows NT 4.0 Server,
Windows 2000 Professional, and Windows 2000 Server.
Files exported as Active NetLinx HTML are intended to be run against the internal Web Server in a
NetLinx controller, and require no additional external Web Server.
Web Clients
Touch panel files exported as either Inactive HTML or Active WebLinx HTML are compatible with
any Web Client that can execute client-side JavaScript 1.1 code and that has basic DHTML support.
Clients include Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (and higher) running on all platforms for which
they have been released (Windows, Unix, and Mac).
Installing TPDesign3
To install the TPDesign3 program:
1.
Put the AMX Control Disc into the CD-ROM drive.
2.
In File Manager (or Explorer in Windows), double-click AMXSetup.exe from the directory
window for your CD-ROM drive.
3.
Follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
Restarting the computer is not necessary for installation.
Touch Panel Pages
The area of display on an AMX touch panel is called a page. Pages can be designed as a control
panel. You can add buttons, bargraphs, sliders, and drawings to a touch panel page, and then
designate the control functions for each object. FIG. 1 shows a page created for a touch panel.
You can create as many panel and popup pages as needed to achieve your functional goals. Refer to
the
Setting General Button Properties
section on page 28 for more information on creating and
applying page flip features.
When you create multiple pages, you must link them (via page flips) to be able to go from one page
to another. Do this with a page-flip attribute assigned to the specific button. For example, FIG. 1
Touch panel files exported as Inactive HTML or Active HTML are not supported in
Netscape Navigator.
