PTE-300 PosiTrack Ethernet Camera Controller
Connections and Wiring
Wiring the Connectors
The PTE-300 has an RS-232 DB-9 connector, lens control HD-15 high-density connector, 2-pin captive-
screw power connector, and an Ethernet RJ-45 connector.
The PTE-300 receives all power from the 24VDC and GND connections on the 2-pin power
connector (refer to the
Power Connector
section on page 18 for details).
FIG. 1 on page 1 shows the location of the connectors on the PTE-300.
To prevent excessive bending at the connector, attach the Ethernet cable to the Relief Anchor at the
bottom left corner of the PTE-300 (FIG. 21).
Camera Control (RS-232 DB-9) Port
The RS-232 DB-9 (male) connector on the PTE-300 connects to the camera head’s RS-232 connector.
The following table shows the (DB-9) RS-232 connector wiring diagram.
Always provide enough cable to accommodate the desired range of motion for the
PTE-300 and its camera and lenses. Making a service loop in the cable adequate for
the full range of motion of the camera is highly recommended.
