Dialing Features
•
Validate Numbers
Enables you to connect different types of ISDN termi-
nals, with different telephone numbers, to the same physical ISDN line. This
service can be ordered from your telephone company. If “Validate Numbers”
is set to ON only calls to those number specified in the ISDN line setup
menus will be answered.

Parallel Dial
Enables the system to dial all BRI numbers simultaneously.

Downspeed
Enables your unit to automatically adjust to the maximum
available bandwidth even if this is only a telephone call. The downspeed
ability is always active when dialing without a prefix. If, however, a prefix is
used and downspeed is OFF, a connection will not be possible unless the re-
quested number of channels is available. It is recommended that Downspeed
be set to ON.

Send Own Numbers
Select if this unit should send its numbers to the
other site. If set to OFF, the network may still supply your numbers.
Data Port Setup Page
The Tandberg codec offers a standard RS-232 serial data port to allow a computer
connection for data transfer and control. The setup page (Figure 24) feature con-
figuration settings for the codec data port. You must be sure that your PC and
codec data settings are comparably configured.
Note
The cable must be a straight
through DB-9 RS-232 cable.
