OVERVIEW
Model ta Gas Purity Monitor
Introduction
The ta5000R Process Gas Analyzer is a trace level gas chromatograph
capable of detecting ppb concentrations of contaminants in sample gas
matrices. The system consists of a microprocessor controlled gas chro-
matograph utilizing the Unique Reduction Gas Detector (RGD) designed
by Ametek’s Trace Analytical.
Functional Overview
In order to achieve specified performance, the ta5000R performs these
primary functions:
Carrier Gas Purification
A catalytic combustor is included as integral components of the carrier gas
flow path. Reactive impurities are reduced to a level of less than 1 ppb.
Sample Introduction and Component Separation
Samples are introduced into the instrument via air actuated gas sampling
valves or manual injections. Components of interest are separated in a
1/8” Column(S) inside a heated column oven.
