Installing AlphaQuiz
• One to thirty AlphaSmart devices
• An AlphaHub, if you are using AlphaSmart devices in a group
setting. An AlphaHub is AlphaSmart’s multiport management
device to which you can connect a Windows or Macintosh
computer running AlphaSmart Manager, and up to thirty
AlphaSmart devices. An AlphaHub lets you exchange quizzes and
responses with multiple AlphaSmart devices simultaneously.
The Help system for QuizDesigner and QuizManager requires that
you have a web browser, such as Netscape Navigator or Internet
Explorer, installed on your computer.
Installing AlphaQuiz
This guide assumes you have already installed the AlphaQuiz
SmartApplet on your AlphaSmart device(s), as explained in the
AlphaQuiz 3.0 Installation Instructions (included in the download file).
This section describes how to install AlphaQuiz applications
(QuizDesigner and QuizManager) on your computer. Instructions vary
slightly between Macintosh and PC computers.
To install AlphaQuiz applications (QuizManager and
QuizDesigner) on a Macintosh:
1. Browse to the location where you unstuffed the AlphaQuiz
download file.
2. Double-click the QuizDesigner Installer icon and follow the
onscreen instructions. When the Installer finishes, it displays a
message that says the installation was successful.
3. Click Quit. The Installer opens a QuizDesigner window.
4. Close or minimize this window or move it out of the way. You’re
returned to the location where you unstuffed the files.
