AlphaQuiz User’s Guide
Administering, grading, and managing
Sending quizzes to AlphaSmart devices
Because quizzes are composed and stored on your computer, you
need to send a quiz to your students’ AlphaSmart devices before they
can take it. This is a quick process using the AlphaHub, which allows
you to connect up to thirty AlphaSmart devices at once to your
computer. You can also connect directly to individual AlphaSmart
devices using a USB cable.
When the AlphaSmart devices are connected to your computer, the
QuizManager control window allows you to send or remove quizzes
from them, retrieve or delete student answers, and turn off the
AlphaSmart devices.
Administering quizzes
Once you send a quiz to your students’ AlphaSmart devices, the
students can use the AlphaQuiz SmartApplet to take the quiz.
Students select the correct quiz from a list of available quizzes, enter
their names and the passwords and information you’ve required, and
proceed through the questions.
•
True/false questions require students to type in T or F.
•
Multiple choice questions require students to type in the letter
corresponding to the correct answer.
•
Short Answer questions allow students to type in a response of
eighteen characters or fewer.
•
Essay questions allow students to write a prose response to the
question. You can set a maximum allowable number of words.
Printing and saving quizzes
At the end of a quiz, students can print the quiz and their responses,
or export them to a file in AlphaWord. Both of these options are
controlled by teacher settings within the quiz.
