Viewing the AlliedWare Plus Version Number
Viewing the version numbers of the AlliedWare Plus operating software on
the switches before building the stack is important for the following
reasons:
The VCStack feature requires version 5.4.8-0 or later of the
AlliedWare Plus operating software. Switches with earlier versions
have to be updated.
The AT-XEM2-1CQ Line Card requires version 5.4.8-0 or later.
All switches in a stack must have the same operating software
version.
To view the version number of the operating software on the switch,
perform the following procedure:
1. Start a local management session on the switch. For instructions, refer
to “Starting a Local Management Session” on page 145.
2. In the User Exec mode, enter either the SHOW SYSTEM or SHOW
VERSION command.
3. Examine the Software Version field in the information the command
displays on your screen and do one of the following:
If the field says “548-0” or later, the AlliedWare Plus operating
software on the switch supports the VCStack feature. Go to the
next step.
If the field says “547”, the management software does not support
stacking. You must update the operating software on the switch to
the latest release before building the stack. For upgrade
instructions, refer to the Software Reference for SwitchBlade x908
GEN2 Series Switches on the Allied Telesis web site.
4. Write the version number of the operating software on paper. After
viewing the version numbers on all the switches, you will compare
them to confirm that all switches have the same version. If the switches
have different versions, you will have to update their operating
software before building the stack.
