This chapter shows you how to:

Defining System Interrupts
The open controller and its option modules use a combination of PCI/PnP
(plug-and-play) interrupts and ISA/EISA interrupts.You define interrupt
types to match functions. The following table lists interrupt types available
for the open controller.
ISA/EISA (ISA) interrupts:
•
are generally set through jumpers or in software
•
cannot be shared
•
are edge-level high true interrupts
In this chapter, we use “ISA/EISA interrupts” to refer to ISA-bus based
interrupts for both the 1747-OCE and 1747-OCF open controllers.
Likewise, “PCI/PnP interrupts” refers to PCI-bus based interrupts for both
open controllers.
