Power connections
If the unit is rack-mounted in a slide assembly, leave enough cable to form a service
loop approximately 40 to 46 cm (16 to 18 in.). See section 4.3 for details on creating
service loops.
Procedure 4-2 To connect to power

Ensure that the power switch is in the Off position.

Connect the power cord to the ac receptacle at the back of the unit (see Figure 4-3).
If the unit is mounted in a slide drawer, secure the power cord as described in
section 4.3.

Plug the other end of the power cord into an unswitched ac outlet.

Turn on the unit power switch.
The LEDs on the faceplate and rear panel run through their startup diagnostic
patterns. See section 4.4 for more information on startup diagnostics.

4.3
Securing slide assembly cable connections
If the system is installed in a rack-mount slide assembly, you must ensure that the
cables do not get pinched as the unit slides in and out of the rack.
Procedure 4-3 To secure slide assembly cables
Tools required:

wire cutters
•
plastic spiral wrap (supplied)
•
cable ties (supplied)

Route all cables to the back of the rack-mount shelf.
