Recovery condition
If a failed source recovers and meets the source failure threshold, the
2902 MainStreet system attempts to reuse that source, if it has a higher preference
(lower class number) than the current timing source. However, the system first
checks that the recovered source is ready. You can specify the condition under which
the system considers the recovered source as ready.
The recovery conditions are:
•
automatic (default)
•
timed
•
manual
Automatic
When automatic recovery is selected, a failed source becomes available to the system
(enters the ready state) as soon as it recovers. The system attempts to synchronize to
the recovered source if it has a lower class number than the current source.
Timed
When timed recovery is selected, the system continues to use the new (current)
source but checks up to four times during the specified interval to see if the failed
source has remained recovered. If the source has remained recovered, it becomes
available to the system (enters the ready state) and, if the class number is lower than
that of the current source, becomes the current source. If the source has not recovered
by the fourth check, the system places the source in the disabled state.

Note —
Automatic recovery cannot be used with an external source
since system control does not monitor the stability of the external
synchronized signal.
