Connect your phone to the Wi-Fi
Your desk phone manages two network interfaces: LAN Ethernet (wired) and WLAN (Wireless LAN - Wi-
Fi). LAN has priority over WLAN. This means that your desk phone will use the LAN if it is connected.
Your DeskPhone can be connected to the wireless network at your home, if working remotely (VPN). This
feature is available if your desk phone is equipped with the wireless module (depending on the model of
your desk phone). If this is not the case, the wireless module can be purchased separately: ALE-108
Wireless Module. The cartridge can use 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bandwidths, but we recommend using a 5Ghz
Wi-Fi network to ensure optimal audio quality. The best radio signal will be automatically selected. A
specific icon is displayed in the status bar when you are connected to a Wi-Fi access point:
. The
strength of the Wi-Fi signal is indicated by the following icons:
.
Wi-Fi settings can be configured in variousways:
•
Auto configuration from an USB key containing the WLAN configuration file.
•
Auto WLAN configuration: automatic download of the WiFi configuration file. Auto WLAN
configuration enables automatic deployment within a company.
•
Auto configuration via URL to download the Wi-Fi configuration file.
•
Auto configuration from an USB key containing the WLAN configuration file.
You must first activate the WLAN (see the chapter below).
The desk phone can be powered in one of the following ways:
•
Connect the external power supply (sold separately) to the desk phone (1 or 5).
•
Use the PoE (Power over Ethernet) by connecting the Ethernet cable to the appropriate port (2 or
3). Note that the LAN takes priority, the Ethernet connection should only be used to power the desk
phone.
Consult your phone connector's description if necessary: Description of the connectors.
