KONA LHe Plus Installation & Operation Guide — Using The AJA Control Panel
Formats Screen
The For
m
ats screen shows the video for
m
at currently in use by the KONA LHe Plus fra
m
ebuffer
(called the
Primary Format
) and allows you to change it. All throughout the Control Panel,
choices are always presented based on what KONA LHe Plus can do with the signals available
and the inputs/outputs selected. For exa
m
ple, on the For
m
ats screen, if the output or inputs are
a different for
m
at than the pri
m
ary, then you’ll see an additional infor
m
ation pane that allows
you to view and edit the secondary for
m
at—including control over whether down conversion is
e
m
ployed.

Primary (Framebuffer) Format
—this pull-down
m
enu shows the currently selected for
m
at.
This pull-down appears in both the Pri
m
ary For
m
at area of the For
m
ats screen as well as the
Secondary For
m
at area (if present). If you select an alternate value in the Pri
m
ary For
m
at
using the pull-down, it will change the for
m
at used by the KONA LHe Plus fra
m
ebuffer.
When a change is
m
ade via the Video For
m
at pull-down or by clicking an icon (widget) and
selecting a new for
m
at via a contextual
m
enu, the block diagra
m
will change to reflect the
new for
m
at.
VANC
—enables or disables VANC data capture and playback.
Secondary (Converted) Format
—the for

ats available can vary based on what the Pri

ary
For
m
at is and the input signal (fra
m
e rates of input sources li
m
its the to/fro

choices). The “Secondary Video For
m
at” pull-down
m
enu lists all co
m
patible for
m
ats in
black (inco
m
patible for
m
ats are shown in gray and cannot be selected). This allows you to
see what you've chosen, and also see those for
m
ats that are co
m
patible with the selected
Pri
m
ary for
m
at.
Note:
The AJA Control Panel software uses the abbreviation “sf” instead of “Psf” when referring
to “progressive seg
m
ented fra
m
e” for
m
ats. In the
m
anual and in other literature you
m
ay
see either of these acrony
m
s used interchangeably. Visually it is easier to discern at a glance
if you are working with progressively seg
m
ented fra
m
e for
m
ats (sf in the AJA Control Panel)
as co
m
pared to progressive fra
m
e for
m
ats which will show only “p.”
