System-Related Operations
This section gives information on system-related topics such as storing power supply
states, reading errors, running a self-test, displaying messages on the front panel, and
reading firmware revisions.
State Storage
The power supply has five storage locations in non-volatile memory to store power
supply states. The locations are numbered 1 through 5. You can assign a name to each
of the locations for use from the front panel.
• You can store the power supply state in any of the five locations. However, you
can only recall a state from a location that contains a previously stored state.
• The power supply stores the following: the state of output range selection, flashing
digit position on the display, the limit value settings of voltage and current, output
on/off state, OVP on/off state and trip levels.
• When shipped from the factory, storage locations ‘‘1’’ through ‘‘5’’ are empty.
• You can assign a name to the storage locations. You can name a location from the
front panel or over the remote interface but you can only recall a named state from
the front panel. From the remote interface, you can only recall a stored state using
a number (1 through 5).
• The name can contain up to 9 characters. A letter (A-Z) or numbers (0-9) can be
used for the first character to name a state. The underscore character (‘‘_ ’’) can
be used for the remaining 8 characters. Blank spaces are not allowed. An error is
generated if you specify a name with more than 10 characters.
• A
power-on
reset (
*RST
command) does not affect the configurations stored in
memory. Once a state is stored, it remains until it is overwritten.
• Front-Panel Operation:
STORE STATE, NAME STATE, EXIT
To reset the power supply to the power-on reset state without using the
*RST
command or turning power off/on, select the ‘‘
RESET
’’ from the following.
