INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION
INSTRUCTIONS
1
Installation Safety Precautions
• Do not tip the washing machine on its front or left side (seen from
the front). Electrical components could become wet!
• Check the washing machine for transport damage. You should never
connect a damaged appliance. In the event of damage consult your
dealer.
• Ensure that all parts of the transport bracing have been removed and
that the appliance is water splash protected, see "Removing Transport
Bracing". Otherwise the appliance or neighbouring units may be
damaged during spinning.
• The plug may only be inserted into a properly installed earthed soc-
ket. Extension cables, multiway plugs or adapters may not be used.
• In the case of permanent connection, means must be provided to
enable the appliance to be fully isolated from the mains through the
fitting of an isolation device in the electrical installation (fuse, circuit
breaker, earth leakage trip or the like) that has a contact separation
of at least 3 mm. Permanent connection may only be carried out by
an authorised electrician.
• Before using your appliance for the first time, please ensure that the
nominal voltage and type of current specified on the type plate are
the same as those used at the place where the appliance is installed.
Please also refer to the type plate for the type of fuse to be used.
• If the washing machine is built-in by removing the worktop, an ear-
thed cover plate must be installed for protection against touching
prior to using for the first time.
• If the washing machine is built under a worktop, the mains plug must
remain accessible once the machine has been correctly positioned.
• Prior to carrying out modifications on the appliance (on the worktop
or front door) pull out the mains plug.
• The mains lead may only be replaced by the customer service or by an
authorised electrician.
