Creating a new short answer question slide
Select this option to create a question that users must answer with a word or phrase.
To create a short answer question slide:
1.
Open an Adobe Captivate project.
2.
Select the slide before where you want to insert a question slide. For example, if you want the
new question slide to be slide 7 in the project, click slide 6.

From the Insert menu, select Question Slide.
The Question Types dialog box appears.

Select Short answer and then click either Create Graded Question or Create Survey Question.
(You can change your choice on the Options tab if necessary.)
5.
Accept the default Name of the question or type new text directly into the text box. The name
appears on the slide in the project.
Tip:
If you are creating many of the same type of question in a single project, enter unique names
for each so that they can be distinguished from one another easily.

In Question, type the short answer question, exactly as you want it to appear on the slide, into
the text box.

Enter a number or use the arrows to give the question a point value. Maximum is 100 points,
minimum is 0.

In Acceptable Answers, click Add and enter phrases or sentences that constitute correct answers.
Click Add and Delete as necessary to write an appropriate list. If you want these answers to be
treated as a survey rather than grading them, you must choose Create Survey Question when
first adding the question, or on the Options tab, choose Survey from the pop-up Type menu.

(Optional) Select The answer is case-sensitive to require that users type in the correct
combination of lowercase and uppercase letters when providing a short answer. For example, if
the answer to the question is “Windows” and you select the case-sensitive option, an answer of
“windows” would be incorrect.
10.
Select the Options tab.
Type
Click the pop-up menu and select if the question will be graded or is a survey.
The following options are in the If correct answer area:
Action
Select the following desired actions or destinations after a user selects the correct
answer.
Continue
Select this option to have the project continue playing.
Go to previous slide
Select this option to have the project return to the previous slide.
Go to next slide
Select this option to have the project proceed to the next slide.
Jump to slide
When you select this option, another box appears where you specify an exact
destination.
