Edit
Displays the Edit Audio dialog box. This dialog box lets you edit the audio file in a
variety of ways, such as inserting silent periods and adjusting the volume.
Record new
Click to open the Record Audio dialog box. (Recording audio requires some
basic equipment.)
Import
Displays the Import Audio dialog box. This dialog box lets you browse to an audio
file and import it.
Select audio from library
Click to open the Library. The Library lists all audio files that are
already part of the currently open Adobe Captivate project.
Settings
Click to open the Audio settings dialog box to specify audio settings such as input
source, quality level, and calibration.
Fade in [#] seconds
Specifies the number of seconds for the audio to fade in to full volume.
Fade out [#] seconds
Specifies the number of seconds for audio to fade out to silence.
The Size and Position tab has the following options:
Position in pixels
Enter a number or use the arrows to set the position of the image on the
slide.
Size in pixels
Enter a number or use the arrows to set the size of the image on the slide.
Constrain proportions
Select this option to lock the image proportion.

Use the Settings menu to select how to apply property changes in the project. To apply all your
changes, select Apply only changed properties. To apply all the text animation settings, select
Apply all properties. You can apply the text animation settings to the current slide only or to all
slides.
Note:
If you change the settings in this dialog box, they become the default settings and any new
animated text you create use the new settings.

Click the Apply to all button to apply the settings specified from the Settings menu.

Click OK.
Adding animation slides
If you have a SWF, AVI, FLA, or animated GIF file, you can add the file to your Adobe Captivate
project as a new slide. This is a fast and easy way to make your project more informative using
content you have already created.
Note:
Adding animation as a slide is most appropriate with larger animation files.
Note:
If you want to add a Flash animation file (FLA), you must first converted it to a SWF file. To do
this conversion you must have Flash MX 2004 or later installed on your computer.
To add an animation slide:
1.
Open an Adobe Captivate project.
2.
From the Insert menu, select Animation Slide.
The Open dialog box appears.
3.
Navigate to the animation file you want to insert (SWF, AVI, FLA, or animated GIF) and click
Open. The animation slide is generated is added to the project.
