Silent
With this command you can stop transmissions by using the silent mode. The LEDs will indicate that the AIS device is in
silent mode and the menu item will be checked.
Clicking again on “Silent” reactivates the transmissions. The Nauticast™-B AIS will still receive messages from other
stations when it is in silent mode but will not transmit anything.
Switch Functionality
The switch connected to your AIS device can perform one of several functions as described below, selected in this menu.
No switch or no action
– the switch has no function.
Switch fitted and sends SRM
– a safety related message (“MAYDAY MAYDAY”) is sent once per minute as long as
the switch is active.
Switch fitted and disables transmitter
– the device will not transmit anything as long as the switch is active.
Switch fitted and toggles Tx on/off
– the silent mode of the device is turned on or off when the switch is activated for
a short time period.
Additionally the blue LED's mode of operation can be selected.
Blue LED shows switch state
– the LED shows the state of the switch (default).
Blue LED flashes when receiving message
– the LED flashes (and remains lit for a short period of time) when a
message is received.
