SGM3030
The SGM3030 meter is a three phase three element meter with no main supply relay and no
load control relay.
SGM3031
The SGM3031 meter is a three phase three element meter with a 100 A main supply relay and
no load control relays.
SGM3033
The SGM3033 model is a three phase three element meter with a 100 A main supply relay, a 32
A load control relay, and a 2 A load control relay.
SGM30C2
The SGM30C2 model is a three phase three element CT connect meter with two 2 A auxiliary
load control relays.
2.6 Backup Power Supply
The SGM3000 Series meters have a physical backup power supply, either a battery or a super
capacitor, that is used to maintain the clock mechanism when mains supply is not available. The
backup power source can be replaced post-production of the meter.
Battery Backup
The SGM3000 Series meters are available with a battery backup option. The backup battery will
have sufficient capacity to maintain the meter timing mechanism for a total period of 2 years
when off the main supply. The battery is a Lithium battery and is not rechargeable. The
operational life is 10 years.
Super Capacitor Backup
The SGM3000 Series meters are available with a super capacitor backup option. The backup
super capacitor will have sufficient capacity to maintain the meter timing mechanism for a total
period of 3 days when off the main supply. The super capacitor will recharge when the main
supply is available. The super capacitor has an operational life of 2.2 years.
2.7 Communications Features and Functionality
The SGM3000 Series meter supports advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). The meter also
integrates ZigBee to enable communication over Home Area Network (HAN) for monitoring and
controlling in-home devices.
The SGM3000 Series meter will have independent communication ports so that it supports
communication via the optical port at the same time as communication via the AMI interface or
serial ports.
