Removing the processor cache VRM

Observe the ESD precautions and pre-installation instructions
described on page 37.

If necessary, remove the CPU air baffle. Perform instructions
described in “Removing the CPU air baffle” on page 42.

Press the holding clips on both sides of the processor cache VRM
connector

(A)

Gently pull the VRM upward to remove it from the socket

(B)

Observe the post-installation instructions described on page 38.

Installing a processor cache VRM

Caution!

The processor cache VRM connector is slotted to ensure

proper installation. Make sure that you are inserting the correct
VRM to the connector. Forcing the wrong VRM into a connector
can damage the VRM and/or connector.

Observe the ESD precautions and pre-installation instructions
described on page 37.

If necessary, remove the CPU air baffle. Perform instructions
described in “Removing the CPU air baffle” on page 42.

Press the holding clips on both sides of the processor cache VRM
connector

down firmly
