The first and easiest control is seat and foot straps. Check for cracks and wear. Keeping them clean
can extend their service life. The foot straps hold your feet close to the pedals for optimal power
transfer.
5. Adjustment screws
Most stationary bikes have some adjustments, so you can adjust to your liking.
Adjusting screws and handles must fit snugly but still move. If the pull pin does not move smoothly,
pull it out and spray some lubricant onto the pin. That should solve the problem.
Also remove all adjusting screws and handles from time to time and remove dust and dirt. Apply
lubricant such as WD-40 or equivalent.
6. Drive belt
Belt drive is a rubber strap that connects the pedals with the flywheel. The drive belt needs some
maintenance, but not much. Clean dust and dirt that accumulates over time. Tighten the drive belt if
necessary if there are adjustment options and make sure it is correctly placed on the wheels on
which it runs.
7. Pedals and crank arms
Pedals must be securely fastened and move freely.
It is not very common for something to go wrong with the pedals, but because they are such an
important part of the bike, it is important to maintain them.
Just get on your bike and feel after everything feels tight and smooth. If vibrations are detected
through the pedals, it may be necessary to tighten them. To do this, you need a wrench.
Wipe the crank arm and pedal threads with a cloth.
Clean the pedal. Try to clean the inside as much as possible
Place a good amount of grease on the pedal threads. The grease spreads when you put the pedal
back on and use a little. Be sure to use grease and not lubricant. Lithium fat is good for pedals.
If you have problems with the pedal unscrewing, you can use Loctite on the threads of the pedals.
To install crank arms on shared crank bikes, you must use a pedal arm instalment, this can be
purchased from your local bicycle dealer or by contacting our service centre.
