Troubleshooting
About this chapter
If you have trouble with your terminal, try the troubleshooting strategies outlined
below.
Troubleshooting strategies
WARNING
To reduce the risks associated with electrical shock which, if not avoided, could
result in death or serious injury and/or property damage:
!
Do not open the power supply in the ET unit. It contains hazardous voltages. The power
supply has no user-serviceable parts or adjustments inside.

Suggested strategy
General problems with touch screen
responsiveness and accuracy.
1.
Clean the touch screen and remove
any moisture that may be on it.
Follow the cleaning
recommendations in Chapter 6.
2.
Power cycle the terminal: Power off
the unit, wait for about 5 seconds,
and then power up the terminal.
Note
: While the terminal is re-
booting and for about 10 seconds
after re-boot is completed, make
sure that no objects (including your
hands) touch the screen or bezel.
Terminal does not power up.

Check power connections (for

connections, see Chapter 3).

Check the fuse. For instructions on
replacing the fuse, see “Replacing
the fuse” on page 50.
