Overview
During the initial installation of a VCX server, you must specify trusted
end points using one of two methods:
■
Enter a series of individual IP addresses, one for each trusted end point
■
Enter an initial IP address and a variable length subnet mask (VLSM) to
specify a range of trusted end point IP addresses
This appendix contains examples using the second of these methods. The
examples describe two typical choices (30 and 14 IP addresses). By
choosing other netmask values, you can configure ranges that contain
62, 126, and 254 IP addresses.
Configuring 30
Trusted Endpoints
If your VCX system has four servers or a large number of analog and/or
digital gateways, you may want to specify a range of 30 addresses. When
the script prompts you for the first IP address in the range, select a value
from the first column in
. When the script prompts you for the
netmask, enter 255.255.255.224.
