Managing Through the Console Port
This section describes how to connect and set up
equipment to communicate with the hub through
the console port (called
out-of-band
management).
By default, the hub automatically configures its baud
rate.

he maximum rate the autoconfiguration
function detects is

You need to use a null modem cable for connection
to the hub’s console port. This is available from your
supplier. The null modem cable must:

Have a 9 pin female ‘D’ connector for connection to
your hub, and the appropriate connector for
connection to your management station.
■
Not exceed 15 meters (50 feet).
