4.3.3 Status LED
The Status LED displays the status of the internal fans and other hardware issues. Figure 4-5
displays the conditions that the Status LED indicates .
4.3.4 Audio Alarm
The BPS12 uses an audio alarm that alerts you of conditions that require your attention.
Conditions that trigger the audio alarm will also be noted by the LEDs. Figure 8-5 displays the
conditions under which the alarm will play. The audio alarm is inoperable when the Standby
Switch is in the off position.
4.3.5 Flashing LED Alert
When a condition causes all LEDs to flash red, the LEDs will continue to flash red for a minimum
of 32 seconds before the system shuts down. The BPS12 flashes all LEDs red and buzzes the audio
alarm continuously under the following conditions:
Status LED Color Status
Green - Continuous Both fans are operating normally.
Red - Flashing: 0.5 seconds on, 0.5 seconds off At least one fan has failed OR
System is overheating OR
Output voltage magnitude is less than –43V DC
All LEDs are Flashing Red System has failed OR
System failure is imminent OR
System is shutting down because batteries are deeply
discharged.

Off Standby switch is off OR
ac power is off and batteries are discharged and
disconnected OR
ac power is off and batteries are disconnected because of a
failure condition

Temperature is higher than 55

Alarm buzzes once for five seconds
Load current is greater than 10 A. Alarm buzzes for 30 seconds during each one
minute interval while the condition is present
System has failed OR
System failure is imminent OR
System is shutting down because batteries are
deeply discharged.
Alarm buzzes continuously until system is
shutdown. See section 4.3.5.
