When you mount equipment in the equipment rack, place the equipment at the bottom of the
rack if it is the only equipment in the rack. If you mount the equipment in a rack that is partially
filled, load the rack from the bottom to the top with the heaviest equipment at the bottom of the
rack. The BPS12 should generally be installed below any other systems in the rack.
5.3.3 Mounting Brackets
The BPS12 main chassis is supplied with two mounting brackets that you must fasten onto the
chassis prior to installing it into a 19” equipment rack. Figure 5-3 displays the right side of the
BPS12 with the mounting bracket attached to the front mounting holes.
Using four M4 x 6 screws (flat-head), you can fasten the mounting brackets in one of four
positions:
•
Mounting brackets in the front side of chassis – You can fasten the bracket so that the flange
causes the front side of the BPS12 to appear at the front of the equipment rack.
When mounting the bracket on the front end of the chassis, orient the front flange of the
bracket so that it is flush with the front panel of the BPS12, as shown in figure 5-4
