Extreme Temperature Environments
Traditional transport aspirators typically operate from 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F). The aspirator
can operate over the range of -26 to 55 °C (-14.8 to 131 °F) during emergencies.
Aspirator Operation at High Temperatures
You might observe alarm conditions associated with Li-ion battery performance when
operating the aspirator at high temperatures.
Aspirator Operation at Low Temperatures
You might observe alarm conditions associated with Li-ion battery performance when
operating the aspirator at low temperatures.
Altitude
The aspirator operates from -2,250 to 25,000 feet (
-685 to 7620 meters)
. The aspirator’s
pressure sensors monitor ambient pressure and the device uses this information to continuously
assess the suction that it provides. You should monitor the barometric pressure and vacuum
level setting when changing altitudes. The aspirator will continue to provide suction up to the
user-selected vacuum limit as long as the ambient pressure makes operation at the maximum
vacuum setting possible.
Maximum vacuum limit decreases with altitude. When the operating altitude makes it
impossible for the aspirator to achieve the user-selected vacuum level, the device displays a
notification to indicate this and provides suction at the maximum limit that it can achieve. The
following table displays, for a range of altitudes, the aspirator's corresponding approximate
vacuum limit:
Alarm Condition
Description
Charging
If operating using external power, the device may issue an alarm when the
battery reaches its high charge temperature limit of 45 (113 °F).
Discharging
If operating using external power, the device may issue an alarm when the
battery reaches its high discharge temperature limit of 49 °C (120 °F).
Alarm Condition
Description
Charging
If operating using external power, the unit may issue an alarm when the
battery reaches its low charge temperature limit of 0 °C (32 °F).
Discharging
If operating using external power, the unit may issue an alarm when the
battery reaches its low discharge temperature limit of -25 °C (-13 °F).
