Chapter 3
Setting up the Aspirator
This chapter describes how to set up the ZOLL Model 330 Multifunction Aspirator to an
external power source and attach its collection canister, and tubing. Additionally, this chapter
describes the procedure to test the aspirator to determine if it is set up properly.
To set up the aspirator, you must perform the following tasks:
1. Connect the aspirator to an external power source, if available
2. Attach collection canister and tubing.
3. Turn ON the aspirator.
4.
Perform an operational test.
We describe how to perform these tasks in the following sections of this chapter.
Before You Begin
You need the following items to use the aspirator:

Power supply or 12 VDC automotive cable if external power is available.(
•
Collection canister
•
Aspirator to collection canister tubing
•
Patient tubing (aspirator circuit)
•
Suction catheter or surgical suction accessory as needed to perform the intended suction
procedure
•
Other accessories as required (Refer to Appendix B, “Accessories”, for a list of available
accessories)
