OPTIONS
For the ZIGOR SOLAR HIT3C family of inverters-chargers, ZIGOR has developed a series of options to optimise
the functionalities of the system, facilitating power control and for supervising operation.
8.1 ZIGOR SOLAR SB16
Traditionally, series of photovoltaic field panels were connected parallel or, at the most, with fuse protections. This
configuration works, but does not provide information on the status of the photovoltaic field as the measurements
provided correspond to the inverter. It may happen that one of the series does not generate power but there is no
information on this.
In order to make up for this lack of information, ZIGOR has developed the ZIGOR SOLAR SB16 string Box,
which provides information on the current generated in each series of panels, DC overvoltage trips and cabinet
output isolating switch trips. With all this information a greater control of production and of potential failures in the
photovoltaic field is possible. Likewise, the cabinets are provided with two fuses in each series, one on the positive
side and another on the negative side, protecting the photovoltaic field against short-circuits in the panels.
Each cabinet is connected to the ZIGOR SOLAR HIT3C unit by means of an RS485 Channel. In this way, each
inverter is provided with information from the cabinets that manage its photovoltaic field and each inverter
publishes information so that the appropriate corrective actions can be taken.
The input of the series of photovoltaic field panels is connected by means of terminals in the control circuit. One or
two series can be connected per pair of fuses. The terminal cable section is up to 10mm

The cabinet output is connected on the output disconnection switch, allowing for a cable section of up to 50mm

This cabinet requires an auxiliary supply of 230Vac 50/60Hz to supply the control and communications system.
Each cabinet must be provided with a communications cable for the RS485 Channel. It is recommendable to use a
minimum cable of 3 braided cables with ground screen to avoid possible interferences in the communications.
The ZIGOR SOLAR SB16 has IP66 and the cables pass through an IP68 packing gland, 18 packing glands for the
series of panels and 3 packing glands for the cabinet output and ground connection.
