Emergency Conditions
WARNING!
To avoid vehicle damage and personal
injury:
Do not place the hoisting jack in positions
other than those specified.
Make sure to place the hoisting jack on level
and solid ground. Position a wood plate
under the hoisting jack for stability.
When the vehicle is jacked up, no body part
shall fall below the vehicle.
Screw down wheel nuts to replace deflated wheel
with spare one
.
NOTE
A deflated tire is
potentially hot, so
wear gloves while
replacing the tire.
NOTE
Do not apply machine oil or grease on
wheel nut, otherwise it may become loose
during driving.
Completely lower the vehicle and then screw
down wheel nuts tightly. According to the
sequences in the above figure, gradually tighten to
the regulated torque:
88N.m 108N.m
Install wheel cover (if any)
securely. It is recommended
to repair the flat tire as soon
as possible
NOTE
Be sure to keep the flat tire and tools such
as hoisting jack and socket wrench.
WARNING!
Prior to mounting the spare wheel, wipe out
rust stains or dirt from brake drum or brake
disc, carefully wipe off the ends of the wheel
bolts as well.
When mounting the wheel, make sure metal
contacts metal on the contact surface, or
wheel nut may become loose while driving.
Screw on wheel nuts again and screw down until
the wheel is tight. Be
sure that tapering
point of the nut is
inserted in bolt hole,
but do not screw to
the dead point at this
time.
