RUNNING THE ENCODER
This section gives step-by-step instructions on using the SBE264-DVR-23 to encode 1080p or 1080i video from
an HDMI source to a VLC media player on your PC. In addition to the SBE264-DVR-23, an HD source with non-
HDCP HDMI output and a PC with VLC media player are required.
*Note:
Actual version numbers for your Z3 product may differ from those pictured in this document.
5.1
Set up the Video Source
(1)
Select an HD source with HDMI non-HDCP output (in Z3’s testing, the Brite-View BV-5005HD is used).
-Power on the HD Source.
-Connect HDMI to a monitor.
-Set the HD Source to 1080p or 1080i output.
-Select content you would like to stream.
If you see playback on the monitor, you’ve confirmed the source works.
5.2
Connect the SBE264-DVR-23
Connect the supplied 2.5 mm serial cable and gender changer to the serial console of the single
board encoder and to your PC.
Take the HDMI cable connected to the monitor and now connect it to HDMI In on the board.
Connect an Ethernet cable to the board and either your PC or hub on the same network as your PC.
