4.4.4
Fail
A fail contact is energized when a fail is detected. When a fail is detected, the contact output is
On (S1 / S2 / S3: closed, S4: open). Error is configured in 4.7 Error settings.
l
Process parameter slot
Select sensors from “Sensor 1-1”, “Sensor 1-2”, “Sensor 1-3”, “Sensor 1-4”, “Sensor 2-1”,
“Sensor 2-2”, “Sensor 2-3”, “Sensor 2-4.”
Fail is output only by the sensors you select. Fail from FLXA402 is always valid.
NOTE
When an internal communication error occurs, a fail is output. However, the error location would
not be identified whether it happened in the first or second sensor module.
l
Setting
Select “Hard Fail only” or “Hard + Soft only”.
Hard Fail only: Contact output reacts only to Failure.
Hard + Soft only: Contact reacts to alarms “Failure and Check Function”, “Out of Specification”,
or “Maintenance Required”.
To react to alarms, contact output flashes every 2 seconds, repeating excited and non-excited.
When Failure happens, contact output stays On (S1/S2/S3: close, S4: open).
4.4.5
USP
USP/EU limit (for only SC)
To meet the USP/EU specifications (USP: United States Phramacopeia) for WFI grade (WFI:
Water for Injection), if non-temperature-compensated conductivity exceeds the limit specified
in USP <645> Water Conductivity Stage 1- Temperature and Conductivity Requirements, the
contact output turns On (S1/S2/S3: close).
l
Process parameter slot
Determine sensors to detect USP. from “Sensor 1-1”, “Sensor 1-2”, “Sensor 1-3”, “Sensor 1-4”,
“Sensor 2-1”, “Sensor 2-2”, “Sensor 2-3”, “Sensor 2-4”.
For information on USP, see Appendix of Operation of SC,
