Paper transport problems
Table 6-2 details the problems and possible solutions when there
is a problem with the paper transport.
Note: When attempting to find a solution to a paper transport
problem, ensure to go through each of the check points listed
for the table entry.
Table 6-2. Paper transport problems and solutions

Frequent paper jams Is paper damp? Yes? Use paper from a new
package.
Is paper in paper tray creased
or wrinkled? Yes? Remove creased or wrinkled
paper or use paper from a
new package.
Is paper tray correctly
installed? No? Install the paper tray
correctly.
Are paper fragments or
foreign objects left inside
printer? Yes? Open the top cover and
doors; remove fragments or
foreign objects.
Is paper in paper tray of the
specified type? No? Use paper of the specified
type.
Yes? Call your local Rank Xerox
service representative.
Paper jam occurs too often. Is paper installed correctly in
paper tray? No? Remove the paper trays and
make sure that the paper is
under the paper snubbers.
Yes? Call your local Rank Xerox
service representative.
Prints are creased or wrinkled
too often. Is paper damp? Yes? Use paper from a new
package.
Is paper in the paper tray
creased or wrinkled or
damaged in any way? Yes? Remove the creased or
wrinkled paper, or use paper
from a new package.
