2. Click the left arrow button (<) located between the Palette and Project lists to active the
Palette list.
3. Select the palette from the Palette list where the standard is stored.
4. Click the right arrow button (>) located between the Palette and Project lists to active
the Project list.
5. Select the project from the Project list that the standard is associated with.
6. Select the standard from the as standard list.
7. Click Choose to select the standard and close the Standard from file dialog. The standard
name appears in the standard field.
Measuring a Standard
1. Prepare the standard for measurement.
2. If desired, set the Averaging Standard from 1 (no averaging) to a maximum of 20,
using the up/down arrows. This determines the amount of measurements required to
obtain an average.
3. Perform targeting if required (refer to Targeting a Part earlier in this section) and click
the
Measure standard button. If a previous standard exists, you will be asked if you
want to overwrite the current standard. Click Yes to continue. The standard is measure
and the data and simulated color appear in the target area.
4. Enter a name for the standard in the Std field.
Setting Tolerances
The Tolerance button is used to open the Tolerance for the Compare dialog. Here the
tolerance type and tolerance limits for the standard used in Compare mode are set or
adjusted. Tolerances that were created for a standard opened from the file will be carried
over. You can edit these tolerances without overwriting the stored tolerance values.

Click in the Tolerance button to open a dialog where the tolerances are edited.
2. Select the tolerance type and edit tolerance values in the fields and click OK when
finished. Adjusted values now appear in the tolerance fields below the standard data.
