MPEG Analyzer - MPEG Program
The MPEG Program page describes the contents of the MPEG stream. To do this, it
is divided into three tabs: Programs, PMT, and PSI. The function and contents of
each of these tabs is explained in the following sections.
Programs Tab
The Programs tab lists the programs that are present in the MPEG screen and offers
information about each one. An example of a Programs Tab is shown in Figure 4-8.

The following pieces of information about each program are shown:
1.
Program #
: The program number for each program in the stream is shown
in the green box at the left. Use the scroll bar on the right to review the
entire list of programs present.
2.
PMT #
: The Program Map Table number is shown for each program.
3.
Service Description
and
Service Description 2
: Descriptions about the
program contained in the MPEG stream are displayed. As in the example in
the figure above, this may include the provider name and the service name.
Each table on the right side of the page describes further video (red underscore)
and audio (blue underscore) stream information in each column:
1.
Column 1
: The Program Map Table number is shown for reference.
2.
Column 2
: The type of stream is noted, as in the example above, video or
audio.
3.
Column 3
: The encoding format of the stream. In the example above, the
video stream has MPEG 2 encoding and the audio stream has AC-3 encoding.
