Preset Input/Output Matrix
: The matrix on the right side of the page
allows you to assign input channels to any meters. You may also form
clusters of channels, such as the 5.1 cluster shown in the figure above. To
form a cluster, click the first channel to be in the cluster. Then from the pull
down
Cluster Type
list select the type of cluster it is to be. The available
Cluster Type
selections are:
a.
None: The channel will not appear on the metering screen.
b.
Mono 1.0: The channel will appear within a single-channel cluster.
c.
Stereo 2.0: The channels will appear within a two-channel cluster.
d.
Surround 5.1: The channels will appear within a 6-channel cluster.
e.
Surround 7.1: The channels will appear within an 8-channel cluster.
Check each channel in the chart to indicate which meter it will appear on. In
the above figure, the channels are simply mapped to consecutive meters.
You may give the cluster a descriptive name in the Cluster Name box. This
name will appear on the meter screen adjacent to each meter cluster. You
may also add another cluster or reset all clusters using the buttons provided.
Using the Mute/Unmute on Recall click boxes, you may set which channels or
clusters will be audibly monitored by default when the Preset is recalled.
5.
Speaker Assignment
: Each channel can be assigned to a left or right
speaker. Center or LFE channels should be assigned to both speakers.
6.
Mute/Unmute
: When the Preset is recalled, the options set here will
determine which channels are first heard. For example, if the first cluster of
channels is to be heard, then those channels should be selected here as
Unmuted.
7.
Delay
: A delay can be added to the channels of your choice, if needed, so
that their audio will synchronize with the video.
8.
Gain
: Gain or loss can be added to the channels of your choice, as you feel is
necessary.
9.
Save
: Clicking this button
stores the Preset in the database.
10.
Save and Apply
: Clicking this button
saves the Preset to the database and
loads it as the active preset.
11.
Reset
: Clicking this button undoes changes you have made.
Presets may be created for any licensed inputs, even if the SPF module for an input
is not plugged into its respective socket at the time. This makes it easy to swap SPF
input modules without having to recreate presets after the insertion or removal of
an SPF module. Note that if a licensed SPF module is not detected, such as when
one is removed to be swapped, its monitoring inputs will be muted. Likewise, if the
required license has not been entered for an SPF module that is inserted, its
monitoring inputs will also be muted. Refer to the
System Setup
section in this
chapter and to Figure 4-13 to install software licenses.
