Configuration – Preset Setup
Although the
Source Select
function, as described in the Source Select section of
Chapter 2, can be used to choose which input sources to monitor, often a more
customized input monitoring scheme will better meet your needs. Inputs from
multiple sources can be arranged in logical metering and monitoring configurations
using Presets. Almost any number of Presets can be created, saved, and identified
with unique names of your choosing. Using these names, Presets can be recalled
immediately from the iAM-VIDEO front panel.
The
Configuration - Preset Setup
page is where the routing of input source
signals to the meters and the speakers can be defined in virtually any arrangement.
Note:
Unlike all of the other input sources, SDI 2110/2022 and MPEG input sources
cannot
be included in Presets.
Figure 4–3: Preset Setup
Follow these steps to set up a Preset:
1.
Preset Configuration Summary
: You may type or select from pull down
lists the Group name, Sub-Group name, and Preset name.
2.
Clock Reference
: You may also select from a pull down list the System
Clock Reference for the input. An SDI or MADI stream may exhibit some
audible clicks if it is not synchronized externally and is not selected as the
clock reference. The Clock Reference for an MPEG stream should always be
set to Internal.
A missing signal selected as the clock reference can
prevent all audio from being monitored.
3.
Input Type
: Using the tabs and selections on the lower left side of the page,
select between the available inputs. Inputs are enabled by software licenses.
SDI optical input must have an SFP module installed to work.
