This item is similar to CPU Standby, except that it applies to all the sub-systems in the computer. Set the
time of non-activity after which the computer will enter Global Standby mode. For example, if you select
2 minutes, if you do not input any data with the keyboard of mouse for two minutes, the computer will
enter Global Standby mode. [SX/DX 8-13]
Auto-Suspend
Similarly you may set this item to define the period of inactivity after which the computer will
automatically enter suspend mode. Note that you may manually set the computer in suspend mode at any
time by pressing the Suspend button whether this item is enabled or not.
Disk Suspend
This setting allows the system to enter zero voltage suspend mode at which point the memory contents
are saved to disk and the system is turned completely off. This mode is convenient for long term storage
and conserves battery life. When the system is turned back on, the memory contents are restored from
disk automatically and the user is back where he left off. Although this process takes longer than normal
suspend/resume it optimizes battery conservation. Use this feature when the system is to be left in
suspend mode overnight to achieve maximum battery conservation.
Device Menu
The Device Menu has two items, Video and Hard Disk which allow you to separately define power
saving settings for the LCD display and hard disk drive.
