5. Starting and operating
The instructions of this chapter are supposed to guide you in the operation of the machine and
lead you during the appropriate starting of the machine.
This includes:
the safe operation of the machine;
using all the possible options of the machine.
5.1. Starting
Mount the loosely included grip to the heating element.
Place the machine onto a working table and if necessary fix it.
Connect the 10-pole-plug of the heating element to the control unit of the machine and lock
the plug by the bracket.
Plug the connecting cable of control unit and planer each into a power socket: 230 V / 50
Hz / 16 A.
Now the machine is ready for operation.
Remove the power plug without any delay in cases of danger for man and
machine.
Keep the machine dry!
The use on buildings sites is only allowed via current distributor with FI safety
switch according to VDE 0100.
The machine must not be stored close to inflammable material.
There is the danger of ignition since the heating element is heated above
500°C
with infrared welding (option) and above
220°C
with butt welding on contact.
No toxic vapors result from welding temperatures up to 260°C.
Higher temperatures may cause toxic vapors, therefore absolutely care for good
ventilation and exhaust.
Only instructed and authorized personnel is allowed to use the machine. An exam
for plastic welding to get qualified can be passed according to DVS and DVGW.
Switch off the machine after the completion of welding works and in long non-
operative times. Furthermore, make sure that no unauthorized person may have
access to the unattended machine.
