AirAura X1 / Dec 2016

To change the multipath limiter control, tap the control. You will see a green ring in-
dicating the control is active and ready to be changed. Use the front panel knob to select
the type of release. The processing effect will change in real time as you move the knob.
Once you have reached the desired setting, push in the knob to confirm the new value.
There are eleven operational choices available under the Stereo Width Limiter control
settings: 10% to 100% in 10% percent steps, and an Off setting at either end if the control.
Composite Clipper Drive
Determines the amount of drive to the X1’s highly oversampled composite
clipper. The composite clipper in the X1 has the ability to add legitimate loud-
ness to the overall signal while minimizing audible distortion and subcarrier
contamination.
Most presets have the composite clipper drive between 0 and +1.25dB.
Settings above +2.0dB can start to cause audible distortion with high e’sses on
human voice.
To change the composite clipper control, tap the control. You will see a
green ring indicating the control is active and ready to be changed. Use the front panel
knob to select the type of release. The processing effect will change in real time as you
move the knob. Once you have reached the desired setting, push in the knob to confirm
the new value.
ITU/BS.412 Controller
The Wheatstone BS 412 MPX Power Controller has a range from -3dB to +6dB in
0.1dB steps.
TURNING ON THE BS 412 MPX POWER CONTROLLER
IMPORTANT!
The MPX Power Controller’s sole purpose is to reduce loudness
and program density. If you are not required to use the BS-412 Controller it should
be left in the OFF position.
When the BS-412 control is switched to the “ON” position
the MPX Power controller is engaged and the algorithm
begins measuring and controlling the processor’s total MPX
power according to the ITU-R BS.412-7 standard. Because the
measurement is essentially an average value integrated over a
very long time the MPX Power controller will not make quick
adjustments to the MPX Power when first engaged.
As the controller integrates the MPX energy the drive to the
clippers will be modified until the measured MPX power satisfies the reference level as
set by the Stereo Encoder menu’s BS-412 control. The control’s “0dB” setting conforms
to the current ITU-R BS.412-7 Multiplex Power standard.
To turn on the controller, tap the ITY BS.412 Limiter knob. Use the front panel knob
to select the mode. Once you have reached the desired setting, push in the knob to confirm
the new value. Next, tap the ITU BS.412 Threshold control. Use the front panel knob to
increase or decrease the threshold. Push in the knob to confirm the new value.
