PROBLEM
POTENTIAL CAUSE
SOLUTION
Engine stops during
operation.
6. Spark plug boot is not
properly connected onto
spark plug terminal.
6. Push spark plug boot firmly onto spark plug.
7. Pressure pump is faulty.
7. Repair or replace water pump.
8. If above possible causes
are checked and eliminated,
pressure washer may be
faulty.
8. Take pressure washer to an authorised Westinghouse
service dealer.
Detergent will not
dispense with water.
1. A high pressure washing
spray nozzle is installed.
1. Replace with the black (60°) low-pressure detergent
spray nozzle.
2. Spray nozzle is obstructed.
2. Clean the spray nozzle.
3. Out of detergent.
3. Check detergent level and add detergent if necessary.
4. Detergent is too viscous.
4. Dilute detergent with water.
5. Detergent tank, detergent
tank cap breather hole or
outlet hose barb clogged.
5. Clean detergent tank, detergent tank cap breather
hole and outlet hose barb.
6. Detergent tube not tightly
fitted onto one or both hose
barbs.
6. Install tube securely onto both hose barbs.
7. Detergent tube clogged,
kinked or damaged.
7. Clean, re-route or replace detergent tube.
8. Detergent non-return check
valve ball clogged.
8. Free the check valve ball.
9. If above possible causes
are checked and eliminated,
pressure washer may be
faulty.
9. Take pressure washer to an authorised Westinghouse
service dealer.
Pressure washer will
not spray any water or
will spray water with
insufficient or unsteady
flow rate or pressure.
1. Spray gun trigger not
actuated, i.e. the spray gun is
closed.
1. Disengage the trigger safety lock and squeeze the
spray gun trigger fully.
2. The black (60°) low-pressure
detergent spray nozzle is
installed.
2. Replace with a high pressure washing spray nozzle.
3. Water supply not turned on
sufficiently or at all.
3. Turn on the water supply fully.
4. Water supply hose clogged,
kinked or damaged.
4. Clean, re-route, repair or replace the water supply
hose.
5. Water supply hose
connection to the water pump
is leaking water or drawing
air.
5. Check and tighten the water supply connection
fittings. Squeeze the spray gun trigger continuously
to purge any entrapped air until the spray water
discharge is steady.
6. Nil or inadequate water
supply flow rate or pressure.
6. Increase the water supply flow rate or pressure.
7. Water supply hose is too
long or too small in diameter
causing excessive pressure
drop and flow resistance.
7. Shorten the length or increase the diameter of the
water supply hose.
8. Water supply inlet screen is
obstructed.
8. Clean the water supply inlet screen.
